Lymington was built on a busy estuary and once had a reputation for smuggling via the busy port, the town of Lymington is an attractive and historic market town, internationally known for yachting. The Gregorian High Street is the venue for the famous street market every Saturday and boasts a range of stalls selling just about everything from local crafts to antiques. Throughout Lymington there is a wealth of eating places catering for all tastes and pockets, including traditional pubs, popular cafes and fashionable restaurants.
Lymington falls just outside one of the newest National Parks, The New Forest with over 200 square miles of ancient woodland and heath filled with a rich variety of wildlife where you can walk, cycle or horse ride. The Isle of Wight can be reached by a short ferry ride to Yarmouth of only 35 minutes and caters for both foot passengers and cars.
