Newbury is a classic, vibrant market town that enjoys a unique mix of heritage and technology, creating a diverse and charming environment in which to shop, work or spend time. It lies in beautiful countryside, much of which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and sits astride the Kennet and Avon canal, which winds its way through the heart of the town centre on its way to the Thames at Reading.
There is an open air market in the Market Place every Thursday and Saturday that dates back to 1204. The market stalls sell everything from clothes to fruit and meat. Throughout Newbury there is a wealth of eating places catering for all tastes and pockets, including traditional pubs, popular cafes and fashionable restaurants. |

DIRECTIONS
FROM THE NORTH / M4 JUNCTION 13
- Exit the M4 at junction 13 southbound onto the A34 to wards Newbury.
- After the Donnington exit, take the A339 towards Newbury.
- Continue over the roundabout (Vodafone on your left) and through the traffic lights on the next roundabout.
- At the next set of traffic lights continue straight across on the A339.
- Continue to the roundabout and turn right into Bear Lane (3rd exit)
- At mini roundabout turn right (by Oddbins/Johnson's). The Central pay and display carparks are situated here. |

FROM THE M3 / BASINGSTOKE
- Take the A339 from Basingstoke and continue past Kingsclere and through Headley.
- Cross straight over the Greenham Common roundabouts.
- At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit towards Newbury.
- At the top of the hill straight over roundabout and down the hill (past the Newbury Retail Park).
- Straight across the next roundabout.
- At the next roundabout (Sainsbury's on right) take the first exit into Bear Lane.
- At mini roundabout turn right (by Oddbins/Johnson's). The Central pay and display carparks are situated here.
FROM THE SOUTH / A34
- On the A34 travelling north leave the A34 at the Tot Hill junction/service area, follow the road to the right to roundabout take the 1st exit B4650 signed Newbury.
- At roundabout (Swan pub on right) take the 1st exit on to the A339.
- At the top of the hill straight over roundabout and down the hill (past the Newbury Retail Park).
- Straight across the next roundabout.
- At the next roundabout (Sainsbury's on right) take the first exit into Bear Lane.
- At mini roundabout turn right (by Oddbins/Johnson's). The Central pay and display carparks are situated here.
FROM NEWBURY CENTRE
- The Furnishing Place is situated in the centre of Newbury at 25 Market Place, close to the Corn Exchange, Town Hall and Tourist Information Centre and numerous restaurants (see town centre map) |
